Andre Villas-Boas to drive in Dakar Rally

PARIS — Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas will take part in the next edition of the Dakar Rally.

Race organizers say the Portuguese coach will be driving a Toyota Hilux. The race starts in Lima, Peru, on Jan. 6.

Villas-Boas, who also coached at Tottenham, Porto and Zenit St. Petersburg, will be teaming up with co-driver Ruben Faria.

Villas-Boas has been coaching Chinese club Shangai SIPG, replacing Sven-Goran Eriksson.
