Afghanistan crisis requires coordinated humanitarian response, says Ahmadzai

An Afghan-Canadian shares information about the recent humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan and what can be done now to ease the condition for thousands of people who need urgent support in the war-torn country.

Kabul, Afghanistan Sep 6, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - On August 15, the world watched the unfolding events of the Afghanistan government's collapse to the Taliban regime, after nearly 20 years of fighting each other. 

Canada responded by pausing all diplomatic channels within central Kabul as the collapse of government was happening. Today, more than a thousand people with links to Canada are left behind, according to sources. Ahmadzai says, "Canada's mission faced an uncoordinated timeline and catastrophic blow to its repatriation program". 

The Doha-Taliban delegation seems to be not interested in freedoms and nor democracy thus far. Ahmadzai adds, "That's why humanitarian aid by the international community needs partnership with NGO's and charities in order to help Afghan needy people".

The Taliban announced today that they control all provinces in Afghanistan including Panjshir province.
