CESC 2026: 4th Energy Storage Conference to Open in Nanjing This November

Sep 17, 2026

Nanjing, China, September 17, 2026 -- To support the implementation of the 15th Five-Year Plan for the development of a new-type power system and help the new energy storage industry transition from policy-driven growth to market-oriented value creation, CESC 2026—the 4th Energy Storage Conference & Exhibition on Energy Storage and Smart Grid Equipment Applications—will be held at the Nanjing International Expo Center from November 3 to 5. Under the theme "Technological Breakthroughs, Ecosystem Synergy," the event will introduce an integrated service platform combining exhibitions, summit forums, and technology competitions. Together, these elements will create an industry-wide platform for showcasing technologies, matching supply with demand, and verifying product performance.

Four Years of Growth: A Flagship Industry Event Backed by Leading Organizations Worldwide

Since its launch in 2023, the CESC Energy Storage Conference has developed into a benchmark annual event for the sector, with its fourth edition scheduled for 2026. The first three editions attracted thousands of industry participants, and potential cooperation agreements worth nearly RMB 100 billion were reached at the 2024 event. The third edition drew more than 600 companies from over 20 countries and regions, saw the establishment of China’s first training base for new energy microgrids and energy storage, and issued authoritative technical guidelines for the industry.

The conference is jointly hosted by three national media outlets—China Energy News, China Automotive News, and China City News—together with the Jiangsu Energy Storage Industry Association. It also receives professional support from the China Electrotechnical Society and State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd. Six international organizations, including the Asia Pacific Renewable Energy Council and the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE), provide international resource support, reflecting a major expansion of the event’s global reach and operational capacity.

Three Themed Halls Across 40,000 Square Meters to Cover the Entire Energy Storage Value Chain

The exhibition will span more than 40,000 square meters across Halls 6, 7, and 8. It is expected to welcome over 1,000 exhibitors from China and abroad and 100,000 trade visitors, setting new records for scale and international participation. Exhibits will cover every stage of the value chain, from upstream to downstream: energy storage technologies such as lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, flow batteries, hydrogen storage, and compressed-air energy storage; core equipment and components, including battery management systems (BMS), power conversion systems (PCS), thermal management systems, and fire-safety systems; integrated solutions such as energy storage power stations, virtual power plants, and photovoltaic-storage-charging-battery-swapping facilities; and advanced applications in zero-carbon industrial parks, AI computing hubs, the low-altitude economy, green shipping, and energy-intensive industries.

More Than Ten Sector-Focused Business-Matching Sessions to Connect Global Buyers and Suppliers

More than ten targeted supply-and-demand matching sessions will cover international procurement, government-industry project collaboration, AI-grid integration, industrial energy storage, hydrogen energy, and green finance. Buyer delegations from Vietnam, Australia, Spain, and other countries will attend with specific procurement plans, seeking opportunities as global energy storage installations are projected to grow rapidly in 2026. Domestic sessions will invite local energy authorities and urban investment platforms to present project roadmaps, while green finance roundtables will bring together banks, insurers, and leasing companies to expand financing options for energy storage projects.

The main forum will bring together academicians, power-sector decision-makers, and executives from leading companies to interpret industry policies and discuss emerging technology trends. Leading energy storage manufacturers will also unveil their latest innovations and breakthrough technologies on site.

Pioneering Competition-and-Testing Model: 2nd Advanced Energy Storage Technology & Application Challenge to Run Alongside the Expo

Held alongside the main exhibition, the 2nd Advanced Energy Storage Technology & Application Challenge will establish an authoritative evaluation mechanism linking competition results with formal testing. Working with more than ten national-level testing institutions, including CEPRI and the State Grid Electric Power Research Institute, the competition will adopt a three-part cross-testing and certification framework. The resulting verified test reports can be used directly to support corporate bidding and R&D optimization.

The competition will feature nine categories, covering electrochemical cells, energy storage safety and control systems, source-grid-load-storage microgrids, virtual power plant dispatch, energy storage applications in specialized scenarios, and hydrogen storage and transportation. Testing conditions will include charge-discharge cycles at temperatures ranging from -40°C to 50°C, millisecond-level switching of grid power, and high-speed charging for low-altitude aircraft. Outstanding projects will be featured in the Guidelines for Advanced Energy Storage Technologies & Applications (2026–2027), with a foreword by Academician Shu Yinbiao. A dedicated fast-track process will support first-of-a-kind demonstration project recognition and related policy applications. Media coverage of the competition is expected to reach an audience of more than 80 million.

Integrated Three-Pillar Framework Provides One-Stop Industry Services

Based on a three-pillar framework—"breadth through exhibitions, depth through summits, and technical rigor through competitions"—the event will enable seamless resource sharing across all three segments. Within three days, attendees can complete a full cycle of industry engagement, including technical exchanges, policy briefings, business negotiations, and product performance testing. Before the event, the organizing committee will offer a supply-and-demand matching service to connect upstream and downstream companies and reserve dedicated meeting booths, significantly improving matching efficiency.

Year-Round Communications Framework for Sustained Brand Exposure

A three-tier communications system will support corporate promotion before, during, and after the event. At the media relations tier, China Energy News will publish special features, while industry media outlets will conduct live tours of the venue. The tailored communications tier will offer exclusive company interviews and full-page print coverage in the official event directory, sustaining visibility after the show. The owned-media tier will bring together the official website, WeChat accounts, short-video channels, and Energy Storage Industry Monthly to publish continuous content before, during, and after the exhibition, maximizing brand visibility.

As 2026 marks the opening year of the 15th Five-Year Plan and a critical stage in the energy storage industry’s transition to a market-driven model, CESC 2026 will leverage national media and global industry resources to build a world-class collaborative hub for the sector. The event will support the high-quality development of China’s new-type power system and accelerate progress toward the country’s dual-carbon goals.
