Dentists diagnose and treat dental issues and help patients develop better oral hygiene regimens. They clean teeth, correct bite issues, perform surgeries and extractions and perform other duties to ensure that the teeth and mouth are healthy.

Attributing her success to her drive to better herself always, Dr. Shanahan has been the recipient of the Top Female Healthcare Professional by Women in Medicine in 2021. 

In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, video games, and art. Her favorite places to vacation are Scotland, Italy, and Ireland.
