Sheffield based freelance photographer Mark Harvey from iD.8 Photography is in the running for the Shot Up North 2017 awards and book launch to be held in Leeds on the 14th November 2017.

Sheffield Freelance Photographer Mark Harvey from iD.8 Photography has had one of his images selected for inclusion in the 29th Edition of the Shot Up North (SUN29) 2017 book and is in the running for a prestigious award.

Established in 1988, the SUN awards are run by photographers for photographers and all who use, commission and buy photography. Entry to submit images is open to professional photographers from all regions in the UK.

Annual awards are given in 3 categories for best image, best use of image and best promotion of a photographer.

Mark is in the running for the best image category. All entries shortlisted for the final awards will be featured in the 2017 edition of the Shot Up North book.

There are two events to mark the launch of SUN29. The first event will be in Leeds on the 14th November at The Gallery at 164 and the second event will be held in Newcastle in February.

Judging for the SUN Awards is done anonymously by an independent curating judge. This year’s judge will be Peter Mitchell a well respected Leeds based photographer with a career spanning over 40 years.

The annual Shot Up North book remains an overwhelmingly popular item. It is widely distributed to named art directors, designers and agencies throughout the UK and internationally.
