Uptown @ Farrar Announces Launch Of New Condo Project

Developer Low Keng Huat Limited has purchased Uptown @ Farrer Condo site after winning a competitive bid. The price of S$174.08 million is equivalent to S$1,000.72 psf ppr.

The Uptown @ Farrer condo site bid of S$174.08 million is the winning offer for developer Low Keng Huat Limited. The site was offered for public tender in late November 2016 and comes with a 99-year lease term under the 2nd half 2016 Government Land Sales Programme. The size of 16,161 square metres allows for a potential yield of as many as two hundred units. The winning bid is equivalent to S$1,000.72 psf and exceeded some consultant's projections that the bid will lie between S$800 to S$850 per square foot ppr.

A total of eleven companies submitted bids for the Uptown @ Farrer site, more than the 7-10 bidders expected by the project consultants. The second place bid of S$166.7 million was submitted by China Construction Development Company, Allgreen properties was the third bid position of S$161.5 million.

Location is the key feature that makes the Uptown @ Farrer Perumal site stand out. The site is situated next to Farrer Park MRT station and has excellent accessibility to Pan Island Expressway and Central Expressway. The site also benefits from the nearby amenities such as Farrer Park Hospital, Mustafa Centre and City Square among others. When it comes to city fringe properties, Farrer Park offers some of the best near-city properties across Singapore.
